How to make your home as zen as a yoga studio

Your home is a place where you should feel as comfortable as possible. Where you can relax completely. Almost as relaxed as after a yoga class, you would say. So, why don’t you make your home as zen as a yoga studio? Most of them are arranged in such a way that you already feel relaxed by walking in. We tried to figure out why that is, and how you can organize your house the same way.

Lots of daylight

The most yoga studios use a lot of daylight. There are no curtains in front of the windows, so that daylight can enter the room. This may not be ideal for your bedroom, but in the living room it’s not necessary to have curtains, right? Unless your neighbors or passers-by can look into your home. In that case you could think of very thin white curtains. They shield the room for curious people, but still let daylight in.

Plants

And in those light rooms, many plants are placed. Larges one, small ones, different ones, or all the same. Standing on the floor, on a shelf, or hanging from the ceiling. Everything is possible! Plants bring atmosphere and ensure better acoustics. In addition, scientific research has shown that plants can break down certain chemical compounds, causing them to disappear from the air and thereby purify the air. Orchids also fit well in light white spaces, because they have green leaves, but also beautiful flowers.

Minimalistic

Besides plants, there is almost nothing else in the rooms of yoga studios. No decorations, no distractions. After all, it’s about you and your yoga practice. That will also give a lot of peace at home, because a clear space equals a clean mind. So, time to Marie Kondo your home!
