Christmas is the time to shine in the kitchen and spoil your guests with a delicious meal. With the holidays coming up I start looking for some recipe inspiration. These Instagrammers inspired me by cooking with flowers. It will probably be the most blooming diner ever.
A must follow for a stress free holiday season. Liz Moody shares the most beautiful pictures and shows that edible flowers are a festive finishing touch.
Morning craving: this breakfast bowl from @tastyasheck. How insanely gorgeous is this?? The downside of being a food blogger who has been making thanksgiving recipes for 2+ weeks now: The holiday hasn't even started yet and I'm already ready for some fresh, lighter food (although I know I'll feel differently when I get a whiff of stuffing).
My most liked picture of 2015 was this healthy lavender honey cake I made for my future sister-in-law's birthday (the recipe's on the blog, if you're interested – just search "cake"). Thank you all for an amazing 2015 – I've had the best time creating new recipes and sharing them with you, talking with you all and getting to know you. There's such an amazing community here and I'm so grateful for each and every one of you. Excited for 2016!
A Christmas diner isn’t complete with a festive dessert. Henrietta Inman is probably the queen of bakingwith flowers. Her creations make that you can’t wait to start baking yourself.
One of my favourite autumnal recipes from my book is my pumpkin, carrot, walnut and sultana cake with cashew orange cream 'frosting', it's like a carrot cake but SO much more! Make a large round 20cm cake, make it in a loaf tin or make minis, whatever you prefer! Haven't got my book #CleanCakes ? Well, the wonderful @mcqueensflowers kindly featured me on their blog this month for an interview and giveaway of a signed copy! Head on over to http://blog.mcqueens.co.uk for a chance to win. There's nothing more that I love than the change of seasons, bringing new ingredients for us all to enjoy and look forward to every time. Whilst I love the summer sun, heat and being able to make cakes like this courgette, basil, lime and pistachio cake, the season's over now… I can look forward to making it again next year and in the meantime enjoy all the wonderful produce we have now like #Quince #Apples #Pears #Clementines #Carrots #Beetroot #Parsnips and more! #EatingTheSeasons and #Local is cheaper, better for us and most of all, it tastes so much better too! The anticipation of what's next to sprout from the soil or grow on the tree is so exciting and delicious! What are you all cooking today with #Seasonal food? You can find some lovely recipes in my book #CleanCakes too like for apple and hazelnut muffins, spiced parsnip muffins, quince mince pies…! Yum yum! And what do you look forward to most each season? Springtime asparagus? Summertime basil? Autumn blackberries? We are so lucky to have such an abundance of great produce in the UK, feeling so grateful for all we have ❤️ #Natural #Ingredients #Fruit #Vegetables #Wholefoods #Wholegrains #NaturalBaking #NaturalPatisserie
From breakfast till snacks, cakes and pizza’s, the Ducth Bloombites shows that everything is possible with edible flowers.
Down Under they definitely know how to use flowers as icing on the cake or in a cocktail.
